Christmas is coming, and you can't forget about your dogs!

Christmas is coming...and you can't forget about your dogs! Dogs love Christmas just as much as we do and for the same reasons. Dogs enjoy spending time with the family, a few new toys and extra cookies.
Here are a couple toys that I recommend:
The Kibble Nibble: The Kibble Nibble is an almost indestructible egg that opens up to fill with dog food. The large one will hold two cups of food. This toy is good for dogs that may have to stay in their crate or at home by themselves a little longer then you would like causing boredom and/or destructive behavior. The Kibble Nibble will give them something to do. The Kibble Nibble will also slow down dogs that eat too fast.
My mom has two dogs that enjoy the Kibble Nibble everyday. She goes home for on her break to let the dogs potty and fills their Kibble Nibbles with a "treat" before going back to work. The dogs love it.
There are other toys like the Kibble Nibble but I prefer this to them, it is easier to clean and fill. You can find the Kibble Nibble online and at some pet stores. The best price that I saw was online at Amazon.com.
The Water Bottle Cruncher Toy. I have to admit that I often let the my dogs play with just an empty water bottle and they love it just the same, but these are much cuter.
Dogs love the Water Bottle Cruncher because they are the perfect size to carry around in their mouths and they make funny noises. I love these toys because they seem to last a little longer then most other toys. If your dog crunches the water bottle you can replace it with another. And, when the toy does finally meet its demise there is NO stuffing to clean up off your floor.
You can find these toys pretty much anywhere from Walmart to DogToy.com.
Now for the cookie recipe, my friend made the following recipe for my dogs. My dogs LOVED them and they smelled GREAT, but I would not recommend tasting them! Unfortunately, I know from experience LOL.
Pumpkin Puppers
4 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
2 Cups Wheat Germ
1 15oz Can of Pumpkin
1 Cup Water
4 Tbs. Pumpkin Pie Spice
2 Tbs. Vegetable Oil
3 Tbs. Honey
Directions
Mix all ingredients
Roll dough out on to floured surface to 1/4" thickness. Cut into your dogs favorite shapes.
Bake on un-greased foil lined cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes
Makes 5-6 dozen

Your dogs will love you even more after enjoying some of these toys and cookies!!!

My Little Brown dog, "Hemi"
The last 30 days have been hard for Hemi and I. I went from entering Hemi in Summer Hunt Tests and getting her ready for her first Agility trial. To sleeping on the floor with her as she quivered in pain. To her feeling better and exercising. To once again taking her to the veterinarian but this time a specialist.
