MEET RUFUS!

Chcolate Labrador Retriever

Rufus is a 2-4 year neutered Chocolate Labrador Retriever.  He was found as a stray and picked up by Columbia County Animal Control.  After staying in the shelter his owner was found.  Normally this would end in a happy owner coming to get their dog and a lot of happy shelter employees.  Sadly, that is not where Rufus' story ended.  His owner told the shelter that they would rather relinquish Rufus then come pick him up.  They told the shelter that after leaving him in the house all day while they where at work he had chewed the carpet and they didn't want him any more.  So Rufus is looking for a home that will love him, train him, and give him the proper amount of exercise so he has no need to chew any carpets!

Chocolate Lab playing with a ballWhile Rufus waits to find his new home he will be staying at Rogue Retrievers.  Rufus is a little stressed but seems to really like running and playing outside with the other dogs.  He also likes to retrieve the ball a few time (he's a little out of shape).  He seems to be fine with kids (at least 9 year old girls).  During Rufus' stay we will be working on his basic obedience skills, he already has a pretty good recall.

Lab needs a home

If you or any one you know are looking for a new companion please think about Rufus and give me a call at 503 522 9896 or email at Adrienne@rogueretrievers.com!  Rufus will need to be adopted through Columbia County Animal Control in St. Helens, Oregon.  His adoption fee is $165.00.  Check back to see how Rufus is doing with his training and search for a new family.

MEET SUNNY!

Sunny the Yellow Labrador Found a Home!

Sunny doesn't NEED a home nor does she have some sad story to tell about be being stranded on I-5 near Portland, Oregon or something like that...  Sunny does however WANT a home with a family that understands that a Labrador such as herself needs long walks every day, consistent rules, and love.

Sunny's only a year old and has sadly already had multiple owners.  In my opinion the fact that Sunny has had multiple owners is no fault of her own she is just the product of uneducated owners.  People who either got her with out researching the breed among other things or she was an emotional purchase.

Honestly, Sunny does have a few bad habits what dog doesn't?  Sunny LOVES shoes (in a bad way)! and she is a counter surfer!  She also needs a bit of obedience training but she is already working on that.  Sunny has way more good traits then bad as she is crate trained and potty trained.  She's GREAT with other dogs and kids which is very important to me!  Sunny is an AKC Registered Yellow Labrador, she is spayed, vaccinated, and micro chipped.

While Sunny waits for the right home she will be staying with me and my dog "family".  She will be working on her obedience skills and overall manners.  She will also start some retriever training.  If you or any one you know are looking for a new companion or hunting partner please think about Sunny and give me a call at 503 522 9896 or email at adrienne@rogueretrievers.com!  Check back to see how Sunny is doing with her training and search for a new family.

Sunny found a GREAT home with a lady in Portland, Oregon.  Sunny and her new owner are very busy hiking, playing at the dog park, and taking training classes and lessons.  I have seen Sunny at her new home and she is very happy and so is her new owner!  Thanks to all of you who shared her information!

The last 30 days have been hard for Hemi and I. I went from entering Hemi in Summer Hunt Tests and getting her ready for her first Agility trial. To sleeping on the floor with her as she quivered in pain. To her feeling better and exercising. To once again taking her to the veterinarian but this time a specialist.
